Mens jumpers are a great addition to any wardrobe – for men and women alike. For men, jumpers are a great item of clothing because they suit any body shape, literally, in the fashion stakes, as a man, you cannot go wrong with a carefully selected jumper. And, for women, we all love a man’s jumper to lounge around in at the end of the day, but they can also look fashionable when teamed with a pair of skinny jeans and ugg-style boots.

Jumpers are fantastically versatile as an item of clothing; they have the ability to give a casual or formal air to any outfit, depending on the style of jumper. Depending on the season, there is a wide range of materials available, from lightweight silks in the summer, to heavy wools in the winter.

Probably the most popular and adaptable design of mens jumpers, are the v-necks or crew cut styles. The choice of cut is largely down to individual choice, but a general rule is that the taller the man, the more they should opt for a crew neck cut and vice versa. V-necks tend to give the appearance of an elongated torso, and so are fantastic for men of shorter stature. Additionally, if you are fond of the preppy, geek-chic look, and like to layer your clothing, then a v-neck is ideal as it reveals some of the under layers.

Choosing which colour to opt for is largely a matter of individual preference, try to choose colours that reflect your personality, so if you are outgoing choose yellows and reds, if more reserved, perhaps blues, and greens. But of more importance when deciding upon colour, are the rest of the clothes in your wardrobe, you should buy shades that match your existing collection of clothes. As an aside, if you decide you want to be a little more adventurous, and opt for gregarious colours, then make sure that the rest of your outfit is neutral. The rule of thumb when putting together any fashionable outfit, is to have one item (and only one item) that stands out from the rest, any stylish person will tell you that your outfit must have a focal point. If you buy mens jumpers in bright shades, or with graphic designs, then the rest of your outfit needs to be plain.

There are a few general rules for teaming outfits with jumpers. For instance, if you want to convey an air of casual sophistication opt for a medium shade of gray, wear either a black, or a white shirt under the jumper, and a darker shade of gray for your trousers. To add a little spice to the outfit, exchange the shirt for a garish colour, preferably one that sports a graphic design.
